American rock band Linkin Park will play at Rock Werchter on Thursday 3 July, the organisers announced on Thursday. After Green Day, Sam Fender and Olivia Rodrigo, Linkin Park is the fourth band on the bill of next summer’s festival.
The Californian band was formed in 1996 under the name Xero. Three years later, vocalist Chester Bennington joined, and in 2000, Linkin Park’s debut album, ‘Hybrid Theory’, catapulted them to worldwide fame. Over the next two decades, the band would score hits such as ‘Numb’, ‘Faint’ and ‘What I’ve Done’.
When Bennington died in 2017, Linkin Park took a long break. The band is now making a comeback with a new singer, Emily Armstrong. Linkin Park has a special connection with Rock Werchter: in 2017, they played their last festival concert with Bennington there, just three weeks before his death.
Linkin Park is the fourth headliner to be announced for next year’s Rock Werchter. They will close the first day of the festival on Thursday, followed by punk rockers Green Day on Friday, singer-songwriter Sam Fender on Saturday and pop star Olivia Rodrigo on Sunday.
Rock Werchter 2025 will take place at the Festival Park in Werchter, Flanders, from Thursday 3 July to Sunday 6 July. Tickets go on sale on Friday 22 November at 10am. Pre-registration, for earlier access to tickets, can be done via rockwerchter.be.
