CAN 2025: Ivory Coast and Equatorial Guinea qualified without playing

Ivory Coast, defending champion, and Equatorial Guinea validated on Wednesday, November 13, their ticket for the next edition of the Morocco 2025 African Cup of Nations, which will be held in the kingdom from December 21, 2025 to January 18 2026.

The Equatorial Guinea national team obtained its qualification before its clash with Algeria, scheduled for this Thursday as part of the fifth day of qualifying, taking advantage of Togo’s defeat against Liberia (1-0) during the same daytime.

Equatorial Guinea currently occupies second place in Group E with 7 points, behind Algeria, in the lead with 12 points. Liberia follows in third position with 4 points, while Togo brings up the rear with only 2 points.

For its part, Ivory Coast, 2023 African champion, also validated its qualification for CAN 2025, thanks to the draw between Sierra Leone and Chad (1-1). Ivory Coast leads Group G with 9 points, followed by Zambia (7 points), Sierra Leone (5 points) and Chad (3 points).

Furthermore, the eight other qualified teams validated their place on the fourth day of the qualifiers: Morocco (host country), Burkina Faso, Algeria, Cameroon, Senegal, Egypt, Angola and DR Congo.
