Big scare this Thursday, November 14, 2024 in Avion, in Pas-de-Calais. At the end of the morning, the Pablo Picasso high school was evacuated after a bomb threat and the announcement of a hostage taking. Firefighters and police responded to the scene.
A false alarm at Picasso high school
Emergency services arrived on site around 11:30 a.m. shortly after the police. The sector was cordoned off, traffic was cut off on Boulevard Anatole France for the duration of the intervention. In total, 390 college students and 65 staff of the establishment were evacuated.
A doubt investigation was carried out in the premises, no explosive charge was found. The students and staff of the Pablo Picasso high school were able to return to the establishment this afternoon. Classes will resume at 2 p.m. Three people suffered from anxiety attacks were taken care of by emergency services then left on site.
According to our information, an individual was reportedly arrested and a search reportedly took place at his home. An investigation is underway following this false alarm at Picasso High School.
