Dutch singer Emma Heesters (28) has announced via social media that she has been diagnosed with cervical cancer. “A huge shock,” she says. The singer is best known to us for ‘Rendez-Vous’, a duet with Metejoor from 2021.

“I am sitting here because I want to share personal news and ask for your understanding,” Emma Heesters writes in a video on Instagram. “It’s not good news. At the beginning of last month I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. This was of course a huge shock.”

Heesters will undergo chemotherapy in the coming months. “I don’t know yet how this will go, and I want to give myself the best chance to respond to the treatment as best as possible. That said, I will unfortunately have to clear my schedule for at least the next three months. I am confident that I will get healthy again and hope to be able to give you positive news soon.”

In addition to the duet with Metejoor, Heesters also sang the Regi song Gravity in. She also performed this song live with him in the Antwerp Sportpaleis.
