Wednesday, November 13 in the evening, at the trial of the RN parliamentary assistants, the prosecution requested five years in prison, a fine of 300,000 euros and five years of ineligibility against the former president of the party.
If the court follows the prosecution's requisitions and sentences Marine Le Pen to five years of ineligibility with provisional execution, this sentence will be applied immediately. The politician will be deprived of local and national elections for five yearsand will not be able to run for the Élysée in 2027.
If the court does not pronounce the provisional execution and Marine Le Pen files an appeal against her conviction, then the penalty of ineligibility will not be applied and will be suspended while awaiting a new trial. For the moment, Marine Le Pen is not condemned. She accuses the prosecution of wanting to exclude her from political life.
On the social network X, Jordan Bardella denounced an “attack on democracy”. “His scandalous requisitions aim to deprive millions of French people of their vote in 2027”, he wrote. Marine Le Pen is still presumed innocent and disputes the charges against her.
