Serbia covets 7 Euroleague players

Not everyone is in the same boat for the second qualifying window for EuroBasket 2025. Next week, Spain or will show up without Euroleague players. This should not be the case Germany, from Israel but also Serbia, at least for one match in two.

Indeed, Svetislav Pesic, who remains at the head of the selectioninvited to the training camp 7 players of Euroleague: 4 of the Partizan (Mario Nakic, Aleksej Pokusevski, Balsa Koprivica, Vanja Marinkovic) and 3 of the Red Star (Dejan Davidovac, Ognjen Dobric and Uros Plavsic).

This does not guarantee the presence of all these beautiful people since Partizan and Red Star will face each other this Thursday, November 21, during the 11th day of the Euroleague, the same day when Serbia will challenge Denmark during the qualifications at EuroBasket 2025. There are only eight days left before the event but it is still too early to know who will be present or not…

“The fact that the Euroleague plays on the same evening, moreover a derby between Zvezda and Partizan, is a bit restrictive. We cannot count on them, but I am preparing to talk with Zeljko Obradovic and Ioannis Sfairopoulos (the coaches of both teams). God forbid there are any injuries, so let's see how the clubs can help the national team. We will try to see if we can have certain players,” commented the coach for SportKlub.

Note that Mario Nakic, whose father is Croatian, has officially chosen Serbian nationality.
