The snowflakes that have fallen in recent days in the Alps bring comfort to the hearts of professionals, who are ready for the opening of the ski resorts at the beginning of December.
In the Alpes-Maritimes, Wednesday November 13, the snow cannons are working at full speed. The technical teams check each snow groomer. Everything must be ready for December 7, which will mark the start of the season for ski resorts. “Three weeks before the opening, this snow is welcome, it comes at the right time”rejoices Jean-Luc Desens, director of Nice Côte d’Azur resorts.
At Isola 2000, more than 20 centimeters of powder fell in recent days. In the still deserted station, the snowflakes brought a smile to the traders' faces. Like Luc Morisset, who runs three ski shops in the resort. 300 new skis arrived in his store. “There are around fifteen of us working on the three stores over the season”he specifies, while collaborators must still join him by the beginning of December.
