Chanel Banks, an actress who appeared on Gossip Girl and whose family said had been missing from her Los Angeles home for two weeks, was found safe in Texas.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department tells PEOPLE that Banks was found on Monday, Nov. 11, in Texas and that no foul play occurred.
“She is fine,” LAPD spokesperson Charles Miller says. “No danger. She is OK. She has been taken out of the missing person system for us and we have closed our investigation.”
Miller says Banks was located by an outside agency. Police say that a delay between coordinating law enforcement agencies was the reason why her being located wasn’t announced until Wednesday, Nov. 13, when LAPD’s media relations received the information.
According to a GoFundMe page set up by Banks’ cousin, Danielle-Tori Singh, the 36-year-old — who played Sawyer Bennett in Gossip Girl — hadn’t been in contact with her loved ones since Oct. 30.
Police carried out welfare checks on Banks on Nov. 7 and 8, but she was reportedly not present at her Playa Vista apartment on both occasions, the GoFundMe page continued.

Singh said she had flown to California from Toronto to search for her missing cousin and stated that she and her aunt had managed to get into Banks’ apartment on Nov. 10, where they saw the actress had left behind her dog and her car, which was reportedly parked in her garage.
All of Banks’ belongings were found in the apartment with the exception of Banks’ phone and laptop, according to Singh.

“Five days without hearing from my cousin is red flags and alarm bells,” Singh added to KABC a few days after Banks disappeared. “She doesn’t go more than 48 hours without speaking to me or her mom. … That girl is more like a big sister to me.”

“I can tell you in my soul, in my gut, something is not right. … We’re crossing two weeks now without a word, without a sound. Nothing,” Singh told the outlet.
