Marsa Maroc continues its conquest of new markets on the African continent. After Benin, the national company is this time heading for Liberia, where it will be responsible for the modernization and expansion of the main ports of this West African country.
To this end, Marsa Maroc and the Liberia National Ports Authority (NPA) signed, in Monrovia, a memorandum of understanding to strengthen the country’s port infrastructure and increase its regional commercial potential, as part of a plan director of global development.
The protocol, lasting 18 months, establishes a framework for collaboration between the two entities to evaluate current port operations, share expertise and finalize concession agreements, it was specified in a press release.

The partnership thus aims to secure a public-private partnership (PPP) concession to develop a modern multi-purpose terminal, which will be able to accommodate a diverse range of cargo, including dry bulk and general cargo, thereby improving operational efficiency and capacity service to the main port of Monrovia.
It also involves improving the multipurpose terminal at the Port of Buchanan, the nation’s third largest city, including the design, construction, financing and management of this critical infrastructure to facilitate efficient cargo handling and support the economic growth in the region.

The Director General of the NPA, Sekou H. Dukuly, stressed that with the expertise of Marsa Maroc, the NPA is confident in its ability to carry out projects that will position Liberia’s ports as key logistics hubs in South Africa. ‘West.
In Benin, Marsa Maroc is taking charge of the management of Terminals 1 and 5 of the port of Cotonou, following the signing of a delegated management agreement with Bénin Manutentions SA. This project is part of a dynamic of modernization of the port, aiming to making it a regional hub for trade and logistics operations in West Africa.
