Two days before the opening of the hearing, Jean-Marie Le Pen was filmed in his home in Hauts-de-Seine in the company of musicians from the Lyon neo-Nazi rock group Match Retour. This is affiliated with the Blood & Honor group, dissolved by the government in July 2019 for its neo-Nazi ideology.

Marine Le Pen subsequently announced that she would file a complaint for “abuse of weakness” against the musicians, whom she accuses of having taken advantage of the diminished state of her father, placed under a legal protection regime. “It is recorded that [Jean-Marie Le Pen] is not capable of giving consent to any act whatsoever,” Marine Le Pen indicated at the end of September, at the opening of the trial.
