In Denmark, Copenhagen is aiming for carbon neutrality. The authorities, as well as the residents, are doing everything to achieve this: waste factory, cycle paths and sustainable consumption.
Copenhagen emits half as much CO2 per capita as Paris. To achieve this, the city built a gigantic waste recycling plant. The bicycle has also established itself as the primary means of transport for years. Everything is done to make life easier for cyclists: tilted trash cans, 350 km of secure cycle paths… And to capture carbon, the city has planted 70,000 trees in 5 years. Each inhabitant has on average 41 m2 of greenery against 3 m2 in Paris., but this remains insufficient. The city has therefore renounced carbon neutrality next year. As a result, the authorities are turning to residents who are called upon to reduce their carbon footprint, in particular through sustainable consumption. Copenhagen must still reduce its emissions by 25% to achieve carbon neutrality.
