Winter is coming to the Loire.

A clear cooling is felt this Tuesday, November 12 with the circulation of a cold drop from altitude.

As webcam images show, the first snowflakes fell in the department, particularly at the arrival of the Jasseries chairlift at the Chalmazel-Jeansagnière winter sports resort.

At the Col de la Loge, no white carpet in sight.

Snow in Haute-Loire

As in Puy-de-Dôme, snow appeared in Mézenc (Haute-Loire), more precisely in the alpine domain of Estables.

Temperatures below seasonal norms

“Temperatures will return below seasonal norms (-1 to -3° compared to normal) and the first snowflakes should appear on Tuesday around 1100/1200 m, reports Météo 42. The quantities will nevertheless remain low. »

2 to 5 cm on the Central massif

The first snowfalls in the Alps and the Central massif are expected between Monday night and Tuesday.

The rain/snow limit will drop below 1500m during the night then 1200m in the morning, we expect between 5/10 cm, 15/20 cm at high altitude in the Alps, 2 to 5 cm very locally on the Central massif .
