This Tuesday, November 12, the heights of Haute- woke up covered in a white coat.

The Indian summer seems to be well and truly over. As announced this Monday on our website, the first snowflakes of the season fell on the heights of the department, particularly on the Mézenc massif.

The disturbance currently crossing in the north – south direction has significantly reduced temperatures and triggered light precipitation. This cooling, which is not unusual for mid-November, is announced for today (the coldest day) and Wednesday.

We should find a “more anticyclonic” situation from Wednesday, in the spirit of what we have experienced in recent days with fog banks and maximum temperatures in Le Puy of 6 to 7°C maximum, at 700 meters above sea level and minimums between 1 and 3°C.

The sun should return to light up the Altiligrian sky for Thursday and Friday. 0519bace89.jpg

Note that this is not the first snowy episode of 2024 in Haute-Loire. In fact, on September 13, the roof of the department was slightly whitewashed. An episode linked to a fresh air mass came from Iceland and Greenland.
