In the new TF1 series, Camille Lou, Constance Labbé and Claire Romain don the emblematic costumes of the Japanese cartoon, in more modern versions. Explanations.
Three sisters trying to collect their late father's art collection. This is the pitch for Tsukasa Hojo's manga, then the cartoon in the 1980s and now that of TF1's new overproduction. At the casting, “girls today” are Camille Lou in the role of Tam, Constance Labbé in that of the eldest Sylia and finally Claire Romain is the youngest Alex.
In the animated version, the heroines rob in low-cut leotards and heels. “Have you ever run in stilettos? This is not possible!”laughs Camille Lou. In this live action version, director Alexandre Laurent (The Fighters et The Charity Bazaar) takes the side of not “not trying to make them sexy”. “The suits are tight-fitting for real reasons, such as being able to squeeze, climb, but which are not aesthetic. Heroines are sexy because they are sexy almost in spite of themselves. It's the badass side that makes them sexy, they're sure of themselves.” adds the actress.

This essential costume, but therefore brought up to date, was not a cakewalk for the actresses. “The suit was extremely difficult to put on, we needed two people”remembers Claire Romain. “I preferred the episode in Versailles where I completely change my gender and the first episode where I am Japanese with a wig, a kimono and incredible makeup. All the artistic teams did a crazy job”she wants to clarify.
“We couldn't go to the toilet, it was a hassle for the microphones, we were cold”adds Constance Labbé. Indeed, the combinations, which use the color codes of the original work, purple for Sylia, blue for Tam and orange for Alex, were “one millimeter thick and not at all made for winter and rain”describes Camille Lou to us. In fact, filming took place between October 2023 and last May. Explore the rooftops of Paris in the middle of winter “it conditions”.
