A busy weekend for these historical reenactment enthusiasts. Since Saturday November 9, French and German soldiers have set up their camps in the town hall park of Choisy-au-Bac. They will remain there until Monday, Armistice Day.

Visitors come with their families to ask questions about the soldiers' weapons and their daily lives. Under the German tent, the Franco-Belgian Front Matrosen association presents an infirmary. Under the hangings of the French soldiers, we find the members of the association of Friends of the Beaux Monts du Compiégnois and Les Échos de 14. Inside the town hall, the visit continues with an exhibition of collector's items (medals, helmet, costumes, etc.).

Captain Nowicki, a regular at reenactments, delivers his battle plan for the day of November 11: “ We will be present at two ceremonies, in the city center of Compiègne, Place Saint-Jacques, at 9:15 a.m. and we will return to Choisy-au-Bac, where the meeting is scheduled for 11:30 a.m., with a gathering of troops at 11:15 a.m. on departure from the town hall. »

Rens. : The camp can be visited from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Choisy-au-Bac town hall park.
