Carlos Prates' impact on Ultimate seems to have no limits. After knocking out Neil Magny in his first main fight in the company, the Brazilian starred in a scene that quickly went viral on the internet. This is because the performance of the striker from Taubaté (SP) not only impressed MMA fans, but also the fighter who is considered the best of all time in the sport: Jon Jones. Present in situ at UFC Vegas 100 this Saturday (9), the company's heavyweight champion surrendered to the talent of the 'Fighting Nerds' athlete.

Jones joined Carlos' bandwagon by adopting specific glasses – a characteristic feature of the Brazilian's team. Next to the octagon set up at Apex, the 'GOAT' of MMA applauded the triumph of the welterweight (77 kg) from São Paulo (see below or click here). After the fight, 'Bones' broke protocol and joined Prates' team, complete with selfies, party and greetings from both parties (see below or click here). Other UFC stars who were also present at the show, such as Aljamain Sterling and Khalil Rountree Jr, also embraced the 'hype' and appeared with the now traditional 'Fighting Nerds' glasses.

Appointment next week

Like Prates, Jones is also about to headline an Ultimate event. The former light heavyweight champion (93 kg) and current holder of the league's 120 kg belt returns to compete at UFC 309, a show scheduled for November 16, in New York (USA). On that occasion, the American will face off against fellow veteran Stipe Miocic in a superfight. With an already consolidated career and an almost unbeatable legacy in combat sports, there is a chance that 'Bones' will announce his retirement after his next commitment.
