Bordeaux continues its National 2 Group B championship this Saturday against Saint-Pryvé Saint-Hilaire, second in the standings. The Girondins played in their Matmut Atlantique stadium which still had a very nice atmosphere with more than 10,000 spectators. After an average start to the season, Bruno Irles's team had to waste no more time and quickly string together victories to hope to dream of a bit of a rise. It wasn't easy against one of the best teams at the start of the season.

At 14 points from first place with 3 matches in hand, Bordeaux hoped to win against Saint-Pryvé and were still banking on Andy Carroll, author of 6 goals in 4 N2 matches. If the ex-England international did not score (a first since he joined the club this summer) hit the bar, he still became a decisive passer by offering the first goal to Yanis Merdji (1-0). The Franco-Algerian striker, who entered at the break, scored twice with a sublime strike into the top corner (2-0, 79th). With this victory, Bordeaux temporarily moves up to 5th place and can still grab points in the next match against Poiré sur Vie, bottom of the table.
