Mohammad Nabi’s 84 off 79 balls and Allah Ghazanfar’s six-wicket haul led Afghanistan to a 92-run victory over Bangladesh in the first ODI. Chasing a mediocre 236, Bangladesh was bowled out for 143 as it lost its last eight wickets for 23 runs.
Ahead of the series decider, Bangladesh has suffered a major injury blow as veteran Mushfiqur Rahim has been ruled out of the series after he picked up a finger injury in the series opener. Bangladesh have not named a replacement. With no Litton Das (recovering from fever) in the squad either, Jaker Ali is expected to take over wicketkeeping duties.
