A football match that degenerates into an anti-Semitic manhunt. Israeli supporters were violently attacked on Thursday evening, November 7, in Amsterdam.
There was a surge of hatred in the streets of Amsterdam on Thursday evening, November 7. An Israeli fan was violently beaten by individuals who say they are acting in the name of Palestine. Another Israeli fan was thrown into the Amsterdam canal and prevented from getting out by his attackers. Scenes resembling a manhunt at the end of the football match between Ajax Amsterdam and Maccabi Tel Aviv. “They hit people, they did really horrible things to us. We stayed hidden in the hotel until we could get out.”says a woman.
Before the match, a pro-Palestinian march led to clashes between demonstrators and the police. At the same time, Israeli supporters, kept away and surrounded by a large security system, headed towards the stadium. They then sang anti-Arab songs and songs in praise of the Israeli army. But it was only after the match that the situation completely degenerated.
