Shirin David has made a name for herself as a musician, but her financial success relies primarily on other areas of business.
Shirin David has not only made a name for herself as a musician, but also as a successful businesswoman. In addition to her music, she has launched her own perfumes and amassed a considerable fortune. But the majority of her income doesn’t come from her songs.
Iced tea as a recipe for success
Her iced tea business with the Dirtea brand is particularly lucrative. Despite initial production and delivery problems, which she discussed in an interview with the financial magazine Forbes, the business has proven to be extremely profitable. «The product quality wasn’t right and I simply couldn’t justify it. It’s important for me to stand behind every product that bears my name,” explained Shirin. She emphasizes the importance of a good brand reputation and spends more time in the office than in the studio: “I don’t show that side of my life that often, but I spend a lot of time there. 60% of my time actually goes into office tasks: Zoom calls, meetings, arrangements in our WhatsApp group – that’s my everyday life.”
A life without a break
Shirin David dispels the stereotype that she only shoots music videos and posts them on Instagram. “Many people think that I only make music videos and post on Instagram every now and then, but the reality is different,” she assures. «I now feel like I work 24/7. Whether it’s about music, products or my team – I’m always involved and don’t have a classic nine-to-five job. For me it’s more like ‘nine-to-five plus’.” This hard work is paying off: with Dirtea she has already achieved sales of around 97 million euros, and her perfumes are also a bestseller with sales of over 20 million euros.
Recognition and gratitude
On Instagram, Shirin proudly shared the latest ‘Forbes’ issue, which features her on the cover. The reaction from her fans was overwhelming, with tens of thousands of likes. “Thank you for your love and support, I am so touched,” wrote Shirin David, showing her appreciation for her loyal fan base.
