A “counterattack” from the Dutch
“I wasn't there last night but according to my teams' report, a fight broke out with people shouting and throwing bottles at other people. It was not on the terrace of a café but close, so the manager of the Bateleur [un établissement sur le Cours Saleya, ndlr] ordered the doors of the bar to be closed to protect the customers,” he recalls.
The website twenteinside reports that FC Twente supporters then “counterattacked”. The national police quickly intervened on the scene, around midnight. However, no suspect has been arrested, confirms a police source. The brawl involved around fifteen supporters.
Tonight's match was classified as very high risk (level 4) by the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture. In particular, it prohibited supporters from wearing any distinctive sign in the colors of the Dutch club and drastically limited their travel.
