Tonight it’s time for the last episode of the fourth week The Smartest Person in the World. This means that after tonight we will have seen half of the participants of the 22nd season of the quiz. The last one in the first half is someone who has often been seen in The Smartest Person in the World: William Boeva.
After the short participation of K3’tje Hanne Verbruggen, comedian Roosje Pertz and actress Daphne Agten will be joined tonight by someone with a lot of The Smartest Person in the World-experience. This concerns William Boeva, who took part in the quiz in 2013 and has been part of the jury since 2014.
William Boeva
William Boeva started his career as a stand-up comedian in the comedy café The Joker in Antwerp. In 2012 he won Humo’s Comedy Cup and since then he has regularly appeared on Flemish television. He appeared in 2013 Scheire and Creation and he was also featured as a candidate in that same year The Smartest Person in the World. From 2014 he can be seen in the quiz as a jury member. In addition, William Boeva was also seen in last year Celebrity MasterChef Flanders and can currently be seen in The Traitors on VTM. Recently he was also one of the participants in the infamous The Smartest Person-week of Come eatwhere Erik Van Looy served his zwan sausages to his guests.
William Boeva was born with pseudoachondroplasia, a condition that causes dwarfism. During his youth, he underwent 24 operations to increase his height. Today he remains an activist regarding the emancipation of people with disabilities. He focuses mainly on the way in which children with physical disabilities are sent to special education. He also had to take an IQ test before he could start secondary education.
So tonight is not William Boeva’s first participation The Smartest Person in the World. During his first participation in 2013, he held out for three episodes, one of which he was able to win. But in the meantime he has of course a lot more experience with the quiz. He has been a jury member for ten years and is currently one of the four presenters of The Smartest Team in the World.
