Sivan Sadeh, a young 18-year-old farmer from Kfar Masaryk, was fatally hit Wednesday evening by shrapnel from a rocket fired from Lebanon. His body was discovered in a farm field near the town cemetery by another farmer. According to Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency services, the victim was seeking shelter in a ditch when one of 25 rockets fired by Hezbollah exploded a few meters from him. The young man died from his serious injuries caused by the shrapnel.
This attack is part of a series of shots that triggered warning sirens in several communities in the Galilee and Haifa Bay around 6:02 p.m. The Israeli military reports that only a portion of the rockets were intercepted, with the rest falling in open areas.
In response to these attacks, Israeli aircraft carried out strikes against Hezbollah targets in the Dahieh neighborhood of Beirut, hitting command centers, weapons depots and military infrastructure. The army emphasizes having taken measures to minimize civilian risks.
Israeli Chief of Staff General Herzi Halevi hinted at a possible expansion of ground operations in Lebanon: “Alongside diplomatic efforts, we must continue combat planning in Lebanon, including deepening ground operations .” He added that the IDF continues to target Hezbollah infrastructure throughout the country, “from southern Lebanon to the Bekaa Valley, from Beirut to Syria.”
