This new edition of the Champions League is presented in a completely new format. Matchday 4 just ended this Wednesday night. But then, which clubs would qualify for the next round if the league phase ended there?

A new week of the Champions League has just ended. The third day ended this Wednesday night. The two big surprises of the day were the defeat of Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu against AC Milan and the loss of Manchester City against Sporting Lisbon at the José Alvalade, with an excellent presentation by Viktor Gyokeres.

They would qualify in the round of 16 without playing a play-off (classified from 1 to 8):

For these clubs, as mentioned above, there is no tie. The highest ranked team faces the lowest ranked team and so on, in a round-trip format. The eight highest-ranked teams will play the second leg at their stadium.
