After FC Bayern’s two defeats in the Champions League, Max Eberl demands compensation against Benfica on Wednesday.
Munich – While FC Bayern has been alone at the top of the Bundesliga table again since the weekend, the team in the Champions League is only in 23rd place after three match days. The defeats at Aston Villa and FC Barcelona put the team under pressure, if the playoff round before the round of 16 is to be avoided.
The 4-1 defeat at Barça in particular made people sit up and take notice. Was FC Bayern shown its limits by former coach Hansi Flick, or was it more of a slip-up? Even if the reaction was extremely strong with three wins without conceding a goal, the proof is still missing. Max Eberl makes a clear demand for Vincent Kompany’s team before the duel with Benfica.
FC Bayern “already has a bit of pressure”
“We played the games the way we played them and accordingly we now have a lot to make up for in the Champions League,” said the sporting director at ran. “We’ve had three games now and lost twice, so we’re under a bit of pressure. We want to win at home, we don’t need to warn anyone,” said Eberl.

It’s true that you have to adapt one thing or another and that’s a good thing.”
The home game against Benfica is only the halfway point of the league phase of the Champions League. Bayern will then face Paris Saint-Germain, Shakhtar Donetsk, Feyenoord and Slovan Bratislava. The active FC Bayern fan scene has called for a boycott of the Schalke game against Donetsk.
