The Leisure Culture Space de Montmirail (ELC) is offering a conference on Friday November 22 at 8:30 p.m. at the Barbara room at 28, rue du Faubourg de Paris.

Denis Sarazin Charpentier will be in charge of an intervention on the history of the Italians in Montmirail.

On the program

We will thus be able to discover, in detail, the contribution of Saluzzo and Provana families originating from the marquisate of Saluzzo in Italywho came to Montmirail in the service of the Silly and Gondi in the middle of the 16th century^e century.

Denis Sarazin will tell the absolutely new stories of many characters, including Augustus of Saluzzoordinary gentleman of the King's Chamber, naturalized in 1566. It will also be a question of Francisque of Provanatranslator of an important farriery treatise in 1564 written in Montmirail, from Gabriel de Salucescaptain of Montmirail, and his wife Claude de Pomereugoverness of the children of the Duke of Savoy.

The trials from 1609 to 1775 will be on the agenda of this conference. They animated the judicial life between the different descendants to claim the legitimate succession of the last Marquis of Saluzzoclaimed by the Lur-Saluces, and also Charles du Fresneclose friend of Saint Vincent de Paul, executor of Philippe-Emmanuel de Gondi and witness to the astonishing marriage of the speaker's ancestors in 1660.
