Che strange thing about American Democrats is that they don't learn. If Donald Trump won, we are right to say that it is thanks to Kamala Harris' campaign. Like Hillary Clinton, Trump's competitor in the 2016 presidential election, she was completely wrong from start to finish.

Kamala Harris is doing well on television. She even inspires a certain sympathy, with a good laugh which she perhaps overused, as if that was all she had. But she made the fatal error of repeating point by point a strategy, that of Hillary Clinton, which had failed miserably eight years ago. First, against the Republican candidate, she campaigned on morality with the support of all the Hollywood “elites” and almost all of the media.
The choir of pure souls
In recent weeks, the mobilization of celebrities has been at its height. From Beyoncé to Richard Gere to Leonardo DiCaprio, all, draped in probity and good conscience, have warned against “fascism” on the march. Even Arnold Schwarzenegger has joined the chorus of pure souls. As for American journalists, they often seemed on a mission, a mission to save democracy and America in peril. Some even ended up resembling, with an opposing discourse, the grotesque preachers or televangelists of the Trumpist camp.
ALSO READ LIVE. US presidential election: Donald Trump celebrates his victory in front of his supportersYet it is an infallible law that they should all have learned by now: the more he is attacked by America from above, the more Trump can hope to rally America from below behind him. The “affairs” and the trials had already not got the better of him in 2016. No more than the vitriolic editorials of the New York Times and almost all daily newspapers. Why, then, have we postponed this in 2023 and 2024, with the same excitement, as if there was no need to change a strategy that had not worked? Haven't the Democrats and the American left lost their minds?

Answer
In the end, Kamala Harris' greatest fault was, above all, having given a fragmented, segmented speech, addressing each of the country's communities in turn while Donald Trump, like Joe Biden who had defeated the latter in 2020, addressed the American people as a whole, with a national, if not patriotic, message. This is perhaps one of the great lessons of this election: unlike patriotism, communitarianism does not pay – or no longer. The proof is that the Republican candidate who first spoke about America has won voters in all walks of life and, according to some polls, has even made serious progress among blacks.
Not to mention the working class, as the Pennsylvania results show. Notice to those who, in France, play the communitarian card. The French left which, in recent times, has modeled itself on the American left, with the same communitarian demagoguery and the same linguistic tics, will now tell us that we must change people if they are so wrong. Perhaps we should first think about changing the devices and strategies.
