‘For His Dad’: Melania Trump Shares Picture of Barron Trump Voting

Former first lady Melania Trump confirmed that her son Barron Trump cast a vote for his father in the presidential race against Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Voted for the first time – for his dad!” Melania wrote in a post to X, formerly Twitter. Her post included a photograph showing Barron filling out his ballot.

Barron, the former president’s youngest son who turned 18 this year and is studying at New York University, hasn’t discussed politics publicly, unlike his siblings who have played a more active role in Trump’s administration and campaign.

Polls showed Trump locked in a tight race against Harris in the weeks leading up to Election Day, and the race still remained too close to call in most battleground states Tuesday night. CNN had only called North Carolina—for Trump—at 11:40 p.m. ET. Polls gave the Republican a 1.2 point victory on Election Day, according to 538’s polling aggregate.

Trump previously told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo that Barron was a factor in his decision to appear with popular streamer Adin Ross and Bussin’ With The Boys last month.

“A little bit,” Trump said. “He tells me about all the ‘hot’ guys, people I’ve never heard of. [He says] ‘Dad, that guy is hot.'”

Trump told Ross that his “sons told me about you.”

“They told me about how big—Barron, he said, ‘Dad, he’s really big,'” Trump said.

Trump’s former Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney previously said that Trump had asked Barron’s advice on how to attract support from younger voters, a group that has historically leaned toward Democrats.

Having just turned 18 this year, this is the first election in which Barron was allowed to vote.

Barron has not entered the political sphere publicly, though it was announced at one point that he would speak in support of his father at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. But he ended up not attending.

“While Barron is honored to have been chosen as a delegate by the Florida Republican Party, he regretfully declines to participate due to prior commitments,” spokeswoman for the former first lady said at the time.

Trump’s other sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, have been involved in his political career. His daughter Ivanka Trump served as a senior White House adviser but has largely stayed out of politics since he left office in January 2021. Donald Jr. and Eric have been prominent supporters of their father’s presidential campaign this year.
