In a country where the race for the White House usually lasts almost two years, the campaign this time focused on a few weeks between the outgoing Democratic vice-president and the former Republican president.
A frantic race which ends this Tuesday, November 5. The campaign for the American presidential election has been marked by many twists and turns since the summer. In mid-July, Republican candidate Donald Trump was targeted by an assassination attempt in the middle of a meeting. A week later, under pressure from his own camp, the outgoing president, Joe Biden, plunged the country into the unknown by withdrawing his candidacy, before his vice-president, Kamala Harris, took up the torch, instilling a new momentum in the Democratic camp. So many moments that marked the history of the United States.
Trying to convince the undecided in a particularly close duel, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump traveled the country, making numerous trips to the seven key states. Sometimes in small groups, sometimes in front of a crowd of tens of thousands of people, they presented radically opposing visions of America. While 160 million voters are called upon to decide between them at the polls, franceinfo looks back, in images, on the last months of this eventful campaign.
