Algeria Football– In a powerful election clip, Donald Trump once again hits where it hurts by attacking Imane Khelif, a rising figure. A few hours before the American presidential election, scheduled for November 5, Trump, opposed to Kamala Harris, is intensifying his criticism and sending a strong message to his supporters.
The clip, published on his social networks, displays an unambiguous slogan: “WHEN WE GET KNOCKED DOWN, WE DON'T STAY DOWN—WE GET UP AGAIN… FIGHT! FIGHT!! FIGHT!!!” (“When we fall, we don’t stay down – we get up… Fight! Fight!! Fight!!!”), underscoring a call for American resilience, a value dear to its electoral base. Through images linking moments of triumph, the clip also shows a sequence of Khelif celebrating a past victory, with a dramatic staging which contrasts with the message of determination that Trump wishes to convey.
The choice to include Imane Khelif in this attack is not trivial. A young champion, Khelif is for some a symbol of inspiration and success, while for Trump, she seems to represent a prime target for criticizing what he calls “watered-down models”.
As the country becomes more and more divided, this electoral offensive intensifies tensions, and reveals Trump's strategy, banking on divisive messages to rally the undecided before the decisive vote.
