According to information from Seneweb, Mamadou Moustapha Ba, former Minister of Finance and Budget under Macky Sall, was called back to God at the age of 59.
He was appointed to this position on September 17, 2022, replacing Abdoulaye Daouda Diallo, when President Macky Sall rehabilitated the position of Prime Minister with Amadou Ba. He will remain in his post until the arrival of Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
According to reports, Mamadou Moustapha Ba died following an illness.
Born in Nioro in 1965, Mamadou Moustapha Ba was a brilliant student. He received his baccalaureate from the Military Prytanée of Saint-Louis. It was in 1992 that he joined the Ministry of the Economy before climbing the ranks. His death will sound like a huge loss for Senegal’s financial sector.
