Mamadou Moustapha Ba, former minister of finance and budget, has died following a short illness, we have learned. When the sad news was announced, candidate Amadou Ba decided to suspend his campaign.
The former prime minister testified about Mamadou Moustapha Ba with whom he shared the minister of economy and finance.
“He is a man I have known for several years because I myself am a product of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. We traveled together, he rendered an invaluable service to the State of Senegal. I know that in the design of the Emerging Senegal plan, we were together at all stages in the mobilization of financial resources, just as in budgetary management, we worked a lot“, he said.
Amadou Ba, who is suspending his campaign, added that the deceased was one of the most competent and rigorous civil servants he had ever known.
“We had personal connections, our families were also connected. As soon as the news was confirmed to me, I decided to suspend my campaign for today and possibly for tomorrow, while I see with those close to me what needs to be done.he added.
