Gault&Millau has named Glenn Verhasselt of restaurant Sir Kwinten Chef of the Year 2025. His gastronomic restaurant in the Belgian town of Lennik strives for the “essence of taste”.
Verhasselt received his title at a ceremony at the Brussels Expo on Monday. The chef, whose restaurant scored 17.5 out of 20 points, said he had not expected to win the award so soon.
“The evolution of this young chef is unprecedented and he continues to refine his incredible repertoire of creations”
The 33-year-old chef has two Michelin stars to his name and can now add the title of Chef of the Year. “I was expecting to be standing here in 10 years, but apparently it is a bit sooner,” he said. Delighted with the award, Verhasselt thanked his “fantastic serving team” for their hard work over the past year.
“The evolution of this young chef is unprecedented and he continues to refine his incredible repertoire of creations,” wrote Gault&Millau about Verhasselt. The French restaurant guide also praised the chef’s “impeccable cooking” and the restaurant’s “warm, friendly service”.
