We know that the Brazilian Grand Prix is not a weekend like any other. One of the reasons? The capricious weather.
The weather started to take its toll after the sprint race. If the qualifying session was initially scheduled for 3 p.m. Brazilian time, it was postponed to 3:30 p.m.… Before being postponed from quarter to quarter of an hour. All this, in the face of the uncertainty of the teams, but also of the thousands of fans present on site, journalists and millions of television viewers all over the world.
At around 5 p.m., two hours later, the FIA decided to postpone it until the next day. All this, in front of a Lewis Hamilton disagree.
What followed was quite surreal. It was 6:30 p.m. in Brazil when we learned that the qualifying session would take place on Sunday… at 7:30 a.m., and that the race was brought forward to 12:30 p.m., instead of 2 p.m.
The paddock therefore got up at dawn to attend a session in conditions just as delicate as the day before: five red flags were deplored, a record.
If the race was able to go to the end, it was also somewhat disrupted with a red flag and a few safety cars…
