Guest of the RTL-Le Figaro-M6-Public Senate “Grand Jury” on Sunday, two days after the shooting in Poitiers, the deputy for Somme associated the increase in drug trafficking with “judicial laxity” and “the absence of controls our borders.
How to better fight drug trafficking? Two days after a bloody shooting in Poitiers (Vienna) where a 15-year-old teenager was killed, emotion remains strong in the country. While the Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau called on Friday to “a general mobilization” to prevent the “Mexicanization of the country”, the National Rally (RN) raises its voice. Sunday guest of the “Grand Jury” RTL-Le Figaro-M6-Public Senate, Jean-Philippe Tanguy has somewhat brushed aside this comparison with abroad. “The roots of evil in France are specific to France, to the absence of penal policies”underlined the RN deputy from the Somme who wanted to alert on the«ultraviolence». A phenomenon which would find its sources in “judicial laxity” as well as “the absence of controls on our borders”. Which would hinder the State of its “first means of protection.”
Should we then, as certain specialists or political leaders recommend, legalize cannabis to dry up trafficking? “These people are arson firefighters, have a great responsibility for what is happening in our country, jeered Marine Le Pen's right arm at the National Assembly. By trivializing drug use, by (the) presenting a recreation, how do you want young people to be in an attitude hostile to drugs? “We must go for systematic repression with short prison sentences,” he urged, relying on an alleged “continuous cloud of smoke, odors, of cannabis in the streets of Paris.”

In addition to marijuana, the delegate president of the RN troops at the Palais Bourbon castigated “the trivialization of cocaine consumption on a significant scale, chemsex and drugs.” Echoing the “great national cause” in the fight against drug trafficking wanted by the first cop in France, Jean-Philippe Tanguy refused “to wait to be the United States where there are zombies in the streets, and where the use of a certain drug has become so commonplace that the life expectancy of Americans has collapsed.”
“Cynicism” by Michel Barnier
What about the examination of the 2025 budget which will resume this Tuesday in the Lower House? “Nothing is going well (…) We have no news on the horizon”snapped the elected official from the Somme. Before attacking “cynicism” of the Prime Minister, given the absence of deputies from the Macronist-LR majority in the Chamber. “They are deliberately not there, so that the New Popular Front votes full of taxes. Afterwards, Michel Barnier's 30 billion taxes will be very low compared to the 60 billion from the NFP.he pointed out.
Jean-Philippe Tanguy may have announced last week that his group will vote against the finance bill, but will the RN nevertheless censure the government? “There are almost two months left to present a budget which puts public finances back on track, which ensures that the French are not strangled by the burden of debt and rising taxes, by cutting spending,” he elaborated… while leaving doubt about the position of the group led by Marine Le Pen in the event of use of 49.3. In the event that the RN deputies vote for the motion, Jean-Philippe Tanguy refuted any «alliance» with the left: “The opposition is expressing a position, we are not voting on a text, we are voting against the government.”
