A very mysterious building. On Saturday, in Erstroff, in Moselle, a family discovered a skeleton in their new house. It could be the previous owner of the place, who died fifteen years ago.
“A corpse was indeed discovered on the property, and the Metz criminal investigation unit was in place to take these bones into account in order to analyze them”reports The Lorraine Republican.
Macabre surprise
On November 2, while doing some renovation work in their recently acquired house, members of a family made a macabre discovery.
In the afternoon, they came face to face with human bones. They were in a space that had never been documented until now, explains France blue.
An open investigation
The family contacted law enforcement to unravel this mystery. At the moment, nothing is certain about the identity of the skeleton.
However, strong suspicions rest on another question hovering over this house: its former owner, then aged 81, disappeared in 2009. Despite searches, he was never found, so his house was sold.
“Not knowing, not being able to grieve, it’s complicated,” declared one of her daughters to our Lorraine colleagues three years ago.
