This Sunday, FC Barcelona dominated Espanyol in the derby to temporarily take a nine-point lead over Real Madrid. While the first half was another fireworks display, the second was less exciting. Nothing to annoy Hansi Flick, who nevertheless warned his players: “The second half today? I told the team that I would accept it because they have done a great job so far, but on Wednesday we need to perform better…We said we wanted to win these 6 games after the break in October, and now we have won 4, so there are 2 games left, then I will be very happy.”
Flick accepts this time but…
He then continued: “The derby is always complicated. In the first half the team showed a great level and in the second half we didn't play as usual. We lost a lot of balls and that's one of the reasons why Espanyol were able to come back. We need to improve on this. We have to improve. We lost a lot of balls in the second half” he however insisted on deploring on the microphone of DAZN.
