The Dutchman deals a very hard blow to his rival Norris, who started from pole position, and who is also under investigation for an infraction concerning the starting procedure. As too often, the McLaren driver lost his advantage to Russell from the first corner and his race was then complicated. The timing wasn't great either, as he followed Russell into the pit lane just before the red flag came out. He was still able to overtake his compatriot in the process, but he missed when shooting straight at the restart and fell back in the standings, then unable to catch up with Leclerc. In the standings, Verstappen is back in the hole. With a 62-point lead in the standings, he could be titled in Las Vegas in three weeks.
