At the end of a sumptuous second half, Ange Postecoglou's men did not leave the slightest crumb to Unai Emery's Aston Villa. After having notably released Heung-min Son and Rodrigo Bentancur before the hour mark, the Spurs unfolded while the score was 1-1: Dominic Solanke, at the end of a magnificent collective movement, dived his ball perfectly to put Tottenham back in front, before scoring a double just four minutes later.
At the end of the match, it was a perfect free kick from James Maddison which left Dibu Martinez no chance and which refined the great success of the Londoners. Direct consequence: Aston Villa is ejected from the top 5 while Tottenham is picking up and is only two lengths behind its opponent of the day, in seventh position.
