A special confrontation between Van Nistelrooy and Marisca in the match between Manchester United and Chelsea

Hi Koura – AS newspaper highlighted the special confrontation between Manchester United’s interim coach, Ruud van Nistelrooy, and Chelsea’s coach, Enzo Maresca, during the league match scheduled for today.

In April 2012, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Enzo Maresca took the field together for the last time, both wearing Malaga shirts.

Today, more than 12 and a half years later, the Dutchman and the Italian will meet again at Old Trafford, in the match between Manchester United and Chelsea.

The 2011-12 season was the Dutchman’s last active season, and the only one in which he matched up with Enzo Maresca at La Rosaleda.

The London team’s visit to Old Trafford comes days after Manchester United confirmed the hiring of Ruben Amorim as the new coach of the Red Devil, starting on November 11.

Firstly, it will be Ruud van Nistelrooy who will try to correct the course of the team that sits in 14th place in the Premier League.

The interim coach of the Red Devils will want history to continue playing in his favor, as Chelsea have not won at the Theater of Dreams since 2013, in Sir Alex Ferguson’s last season at the helm of the team.

For its part, the London team is seeking to make up for the disappointing elimination it suffered during the week against Newcastle, with a score of 2-0.

However, the Blues’ position in the domestic competition is very different to that of the Mancunian outfit as they sit in fifth place, one point behind third.
