Already grieving a year ago by the highly publicized death of Thomas, fatally injured during a village festival in Crépol (Drôme), the Rugby Club Romans-Péage has just lost another of its players: Nicolas Dumas, victim of a shooting in front of a nightclub on the night of Thursday to Friday, near . The young man, aged 22, died on Saturday afternoon from his injuries, after being shot in the head.

The shooting, believed to be linked to drug trafficking, broke out around 2:30 a.m. Friday in the parking lot of a nightclub in Saint-Péray (Ardèche), west of Valence. Originally from Romans-sur-Isère, Nicolas was transported in absolute emergency to the Valence hospital center, with a vital prognosis.

This Halloween evening, Nicolas came to party with friends from the rugby club at Seven. Shots were fired at a group waiting outside the nightclub. The young rugby player is affected. His mother, Gwladys, was at his bedside in hospital until her last breath.

She speaks of her son as a non-violent boy. “He was full of life, much loved by his friends, someone without problems. An adorable and loving son! », she describes to our colleagues from Dauphiné Libéré. “He was so helpful and always attentive to others,” she adds.

The US Rhône he was a generous, committed soul who brought the RCRP club to life. This love of rugby and the values ​​of camaraderie, he also carried with us, within the Rhône XV family even just for one season, where he found a place among his own, on and off the field. »

His rugby club also paid tribute to him on Facebook, saying they were “touched to the heart again” since Thursday evening, and “devastated” by this death “in atrocious circumstances”: “Nicolas, Kolbe, Nico, the princess or so many other nicknames have just left us in atrocious circumstances. »
