The origin of the shooting could be linked to drug trafficking, an investigation is underway to find the shooter.
While the investigation is still ongoing concerning the shooting in front of a nightclub in Saint-Péray near Valence, which caused the death of Nicolas, aged 22, the Minister of the Interior reacted this Sunday morning by sending “his thoughts to his loved ones”.
He took the opportunity to reaffirm his security discourse: “Ultraviolence sows death and chaos. The fight we must wage requires legislative rearmament and determination from everyone and at every moment”he writes on X.

Seriously injured by a bullet received in the head during the shooting which took place during the night from Thursday to Friday in the parking lot of this nightclub, Nicolas died on Saturday afternoon. The young man was from Romans-sur-Isère and belonged to the same Rugby club, the Rugby Club Romans-Péage, as Thomas, killed a year ago during a ball in Crépol. His club but also the Drôme rugby committee paid tribute to him.
The young man was in the parking lot to enter the nightclub which was expecting nearly 800 young people to celebrate Halloween. A man dressed in black and hooded then left his car in the parking lot and headed towards the entrance, according to initial testimonies. He shot a doorman, who was slightly injured, then towards the queue where many young people were present, including Nicolas. Some even believed that it was a set-up for Halloween evening before realizing the seriousness of the facts, specifies BFM.
Nicolas was then hit in the head, as well as a young girl in the leg, but his life is not in danger nor those of the doorman. Panic gripped the crowd. The young people remained confined until 4 a.m. inside waiting for their parents to come pick them up.
