New red notice in Andalusia. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has raised the red warning for this Sunday in the region due to rain and storms. Specifically, this affects the Almeria regions of Valle del Almanzora, Los Vélez, Nacimiento, Campo de Tabernas and the Levante area. The warning will be active until 6:00 p.m., since an accumulated rainfall of 60 liters in one hour and up to 120 in 12 hours is estimated.
For this reason, the president of Andalusia, Juanma Moreno, has announced that the Emergency Plan, operational situation 1, has been activated. “Please, use maximum caution and avoid unnecessary travel in the area,” Moreno wrote on his social networks.
The emergency phase refers to a phenomenon that involves damage and for which the necessary measures are put into practice for the relief and protection of people or property. Operational situation 1 is declared by the head of the Ministry with powers in matters of civil protection and emergencies (in this case the counselor Antonio Sanz) when the emergency can be controlled through the use of the ordinary means and resources available in the Junta de Andalucía. , or with specific support of resources whose mobilization does not require specific coordination by the central bodies of the National Civil Protection System.
Likewise, Aemet has activated the yellow warning for coastal phenomena on the entire coast of Cádiz, as well as part of it corresponding to the provinces of Almería and Granada. In the three provinces, easterly winds of between 50 and 61 kilometers per hour and waves of two to three meters are expected. The alert will be deactivated in Cádiz at 4:00 p.m., while in Almería and Granada it will be in force until midnight this Sunday.
