Nottingham Forest 3-0 West Ham
Fabianski:7 Not too much to do in the first half but was let down by his defence as Forest went 1-0 up. Possibly unsighted for Forest’s second and it might have taken a deflection but it didn’t look good. Amazing save stopped it being 4-0 and made a world class save on 95 mins.
Wan Bissaka: 5 Like Emerson, found himself in advanced positions but neither have the quality of wingers. Finished the game at left back.
Todibo:2 His attempt to cut out Moreno’s cross meant he lost his man and Chris Wood will not score an easier goal. Conceded the freekick on Anderson which led to the home sides second. Tried to do an impression of Lionel Messi with a chipped pass which resulted in Forests third.
Mavropanos: 3 Got skinned for Forests opener and might have scored their second.
Kilman:4 Very busy day at the office for Kilman who was one of many who should have done better for Wood’s goal.
Emerson:4 Got into a great position on 13 minutes but was wasteful with his cross. Got into the same position again eight minutes later and wasted that too. Excellent tackle in the second half against Elanga.
Rodriguez:3 Reckless. Could have been given his marching orders for a foul on Gibbs-White. played a role in a truly awful passing performance in the first half.
Alvarez:2 Part of a midfield who were not mobile enough and lacking a creative pass. Sent off for a second yellow following an unnecessary tackle as the team lost shape and discipline.
Paqueta:4 Started the game in an unfamiliar right midfield role. Had some bright ideas but his accuracy was off as his feet were unable to match what his brain was thinking.
Bowen:4 Got no change out of Forest’s defensive duo. The fact that he looked more comfortable back in his usual position once West Ham were down to 10 men said everything about the Hammers first half tactics.
Summerville:3 Deployed in a position completely unsuited to his talents as a sort of inside left midfielder. Hooked at half time and will have every right to ask why he was not played on the left wing.
Nottingham Forest 3-0 West Ham: Lopetegui looks on, powerless as the game slips from the Hammers grasp
Substitutes
Antonio: Replaced Summerville at half time. Shanked a truly awful shot pathetically wide but the game had gone by that point.
Soler: On for Rodriguez and didn’t look too bad but picked up the obligatory yellow card.
Irving: 78th min sub for Emerson after the Irons went 3-0 down.
