M6 is broadcasting three new episodes of “Code Quantum”, the reboot of the cult series, this Saturday evening. Will Scott Bakula, who played Sam Beckett in the original series, make an appearance? We have the answer!

This Saturday, November 2, M6 will offer three new episodes of Code Quantum, the remake of the eponymous cult series broadcast in during the 90s. This new iteration takes place 30 years after Dr. Sam Beckett entered the accelerator temporal and disappeared.

A new team led by physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee) has been formed to relaunch the project in the hope of understanding the secret of how the particle accelerator created in 1989 works and finding its creator.

But after making an unauthorized jump into the past, Ben finds himself in a time spiral, going from life to life and from era to era. His colleagues remaining in the present will try to understand his gesture and bring him home. They will have to act quickly or risk losing him forever.

Will Scott Bakula appear in the series?

Since the announcement of this reboot project in September 2021, fans of Quantum Code had been hoping that Scott Bakula, who played the iconic Sam Beckett, would make an appearance.

Unfortunately, even before the first episode was broadcast, the actor spoke out to rule out any possibility of a return. However, he took care to wish the new team good luck.

At the time, the showrunner of the reboot, Martin Gero, confided that he did not want to give up in the face of this refusal. “I have a very, very good idea that I shared with Deborah (Pratt) and Don (Bellisario)”, he confided to our colleagues at Collider.

I think it could be a lot of fun. But I also totally respect his choice. He knows our passion for him. He knows our enthusiasm, our love and our respect for the old series. […] I'll call his managers just enough that they feel like I want him on the show, but not enough that they think it's harassment. We would all like that to happen, but we completely honor and respect his choices,” he concluded.

And we have to believe that unfortunately he didn't succeed, or that he simply didn't have the time to convince him. Code Quantum was indeed canceled after only two seasons. On February 24, NBC broadcast the final episode of the science fiction series without Scott Bakula making an appearance.

Find new episodes of Code Quantum every Saturday evening on M6. Note that the channel rebroadcasts the first episodes of the original series from 11:35 p.m.
