KV Mechelen is running at full speed this season. Besnik Hasi also wants to do that tonight against the wandering Union SG.
KV Mechelen scores goals at will. Coach Besnik Hasi is enjoying the moment, because he is aware like no other of the fact that everything can change quickly.
Malinwa is currently five points higher in the ranking than the people of Brussels. The road is still very long, but KV Mechelen would be very happy with its current place in the top six and participation in the play-offs.
“At the moment I am looking in all directions, but I prefer to look upwards,” Hasi winks at Gazet van Antwerpen. “I always remind my boys that the gap is minimal. It is to their credit that we are now in fourth place, but only after thirty matches does it matter where you are.”
Too little on stationary phases
On an offensive level, everything is running smoothly. With 26 goals, Malinwa has the best attack. No fewer than 12 players have already scored one of those goals.
“Every team wants a top scorer. But if, as a trainer, I see one player at the opponent who scores all the goals, it is easier to put two men on it,” says Hasi. “It is better that the danger comes from different players and in different ways.”
Although there is still one major area to work on offensively. “We don’t score enough on stationary phases. We are working on that. But we keep scoring goals, even the substitutes. And that is positive.”
