STVV continues to do well under Felice Mazzu. This even works without Billal Brahimi, the new star player of the Canaries.
Even if the new star in the Canaries’ firmament is not there due to a suspension, STVV manages to win its matches. Billal Brahimi will be there again this weekend against Standard.
For Club icon Danny Boffin, the Algerian is a real star player at STVV. “I certainly don’t want to tear Koïta down, because he meant a lot to STVV, especially last season,” Boffin tells Het Belang van Limburg.
“But Abou was more concerned with himself and sometimes dared to make mistakes defensively. Brahimi thinks more in the collective and is also more present in a match, while Koïta had to rely on his flashes. I rate him as a footballer even higher than Koïta.”
According to Boffin, Mazzu is the ideal man to make players important. He already did that with Bertaccini and he will also succeed with Brahimi.
“Bertaccini, like Brahimi, comes from a period in which he lost some confidence. Mazzu now creates a warm environment for both of them and in it they can fully develop themselves.”
