“It will be an opportunity for our family to end, in the best possible way and in good humor, months of exhausting trials” : Gisèle Pelicot's daughter, Caroline Darian, announces the organization of a gala in Avignon on December 20 on social networks. The event is organized for the benefit of the association founded by Caroline Darian M'dors paswhich helps victims of chemical submission.
This gala is organized on the evening of the end of the trial, in a location which has yet to be specified: “We are counting on you. Other precise information will be communicated to you very soon“, writes Gisèle Pelicot's daughter. This event will bring together “several public figures and hand-picked guests”details Caroline Darian. On her Instagram account, she also talks about her psychological state: “I am finally regaining, little by little, the necessary vigor to continue to face the rest of this trial.” Saturday October 26, Gisèle Pelicot's daughter had announced entering the clinic.
Caroline Darian's father, Dominique Pelicot, 72, admitted to having drugged his wife from 2011 to 2020, without her knowledge, in order to rape her and have her raped by dozens of men recruited on the internet. Several of the 50 men tried with him, most of them for aggravated rape, and who like him risk up to 20 years in prison, claim to have believed they were participating in the fantasy of a swinging couple or not to have realized Gisèle Pelicot's state of unconsciousness. The verdict of the trial, with international repercussions, is expected around December 20.
The Mazan rape trial will resume Monday, November 4 after a week of suspension.
