Taylor Swift told the crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium Friday night this weekend’s shows would be the last for this tour in the United States.
INDIANAPOLIS — The Eras Tour is underway in Indianapolis!
Taylor Swift kicked off her three-night stop in Indy Friday night to a packed house at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Before the show, thousands of Swifties filled the streets of downtown Indianapolis, sparkling in anticipation of one of the biggest concert events in Circle City history.
The party started Friday afternoon with “Taygating” downtown, with Taylor Swift music blasting as fans shared stories and friendship bracelets.
It’s not just Hoosiers who are excited for the show.
“We are so excited. We couldn’t wait to be here,” said a woman who came from Washington state to catch the concert.
“It’s so chill here,” a young Taylor Swift fan said.
“We’re from Wisconsin. Our parents surprised us with tickets about 10 a.m.,” said one mom.
The gates opened at Lucas Oil Stadium at 7 p.m. and fans filled the home of the Indianapolis Colts as the opening acts got them ready for Swift.
“IM FIRED UP!!!!!!!” Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark posted in an Instagram story, with a photo from her seats.
As Swift took the stage, she confirmed that this weekend will be the last U.S. shows on The Eras Tour.
“We decided that the very last city on the U.S. tour will, in fact, be right here in Indianapolis!” she told the crowd.
Swift said before the show, she was informed Friday night’s concert set an attendance record for a concert at Lucas Oil Stadium.

During the show, the Indianapolis crowd erupted in a standing ovation for Swift that lasted over two minutes! As the Swifties cheered, Swift could be seen mouthing the words “Oh my gosh!” and even took her earpieces out to hear how loud it was.
“Indy, I’ll never forget that!” Swift told the crowd.
More than three hours into the show, Swift was still rocking the Lucas Oil Stadium stage. She performed a pair of “surprise songs,” singing “Holy Ground” a mashup of “Cold as You” and “Exile.”
Swift announced in June that the tour would come to an end this year. After performing this weekend in Indianapolis she heads north of the border for shows in Toronto and Vancouver, where the tour will wrap up Dec. 8.
The Eras Tour opened March 17, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona.
