Dulliken will receive a new McDonald’s branch. The planning application was recently submitted. The objection period runs from now until and including November 20th. The fast food restaurant is to be built at Bodenackerstrasse 27 and, like most branches, will be run by licensees. According to the announcement, around 40 new jobs are expected.

It is still unclear when the restaurant will open. The media office writes on request that we are in good communication with the authorities. “At this point, however, we cannot say anything about the opening date.”

The McDonald’s in Dulliken is the first restaurant of the American fast food chain in Niederamt. When asked, they want to be close to the guests. There have been a McDonald’s in Olten and Aarau since 1994 and 1995 respectively. We are constantly looking for new locations. And the evaluation would have shown that a McDonald’s restaurant is desired between the two cities – a location with a “McDrive”. This has two lanes.

McDonald’s benefits from the convenient location. The location on Bodenackerstrasse is ideal for a McDonald’s restaurant with McDrive due to its convenient location. “The drivers pass the restaurant on their way to work and shopping and don’t just drive to McDonald’s,” the media office continues.

In order to optimize the traffic situation, the restaurant chain also submits a report. According to the announcement, this regulates the parking spaces for cars, bicycles and mopeds and the e-charging stations. Solar cells will also be installed on the roof to generate energy.

Space for around 200 guests indoors and outdoors

The location is one of a maximum of seven branches that are opened per year. There are a total of 182 locations in Switzerland. The restaurant in Dulliken offers space for around 130 guests indoors and 70 guests on the terrace. A playland should encourage children to have fun and exercise.

Guests can choose between different ordering options: at the counter, on the order kiosk screen or via the McDonald’s app. Menus are either served at the table or packaged to take away.

McDonald’s emphasizes that they will source most of their ingredients from Swiss partners such as Bell, Emmi, Eisberg, Fortisa, Frigemo and Ospelt, thereby also serving the local economy.

The planning application also includes an anti-littering strategy. McDonald relies on sustainable packaging with less plastic. Instead, according to the announcement, 95 percent renewable, recycled or certified materials such as paper or cardboard are used. Clean-up tours and additional trash cans are also intended to help combat the throwaway problem.

Tonet AG moves its location to Däniken

The location of the new McDonald’s branch is on the Tonet AG site. They want to move their operations to Däniken next year, where the company is currently building a training and storage building. Rico Tonet, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tonet AG, says they have been looking for a new location for the company for a long time. «We found a property in Däniken with great support from the community. This fits our ideas and the strategic direction as part of the succession planning with my son.”

Tonet advertised the old building in Dulliken via a private channel and McDonald’s got in touch. «The negotiations went well. Both sides were interested in fair negotiations. There was no competition,” says Tonet. He is looking forward to moving to the new warehouse and training building. “We have a lot of theoretical and practical knowledge to impart.”

The family-run company is “nowadays an integral part of the carpentry industry,” as the company writes about itself. Today, around 65 years after its founding, the company, which specializes in the treatment of wooden surfaces, is growing rapidly.
